Anxiety Therapy

FOR ADULTS & CHILDREN IN WESTCHESTER AND ACROSS NY

Anxiety has a way of zapping you of your time, energy, and joy.

Anxiety looks different from person to person: some experience it as a sense of panic or unease, while others notice it in their social interactions, or a fear of not being good enough.

You might be:

  • Spending much of your time worrying about your work, relationships, health, finances, or family

  • Experiencing sleep difficulties

  • Having trouble concentrating or making decisions

  • Second-guessing yourself and your abilities or worth

  • Noticing anxious behaviors in your child or teen and feel unsure how to help

This isn’t your fault. There are solutions.

My Approach

How Anxiety Therapy Works

Different kinds of anxiety require different kinds of treatment. Rather than just implementing one strategy or therapeutic approach, our work together will start with an evaluation that sheds light on your unique needs. That way, you can feel empowered with information & insight into your experience and we can create a roadmap to wellness that is going to be most effective for you.

  • Understand

I’ll gather information from you because you are the expert on yourself. We may also use some assessment tools to understand what might be contributing to the challenges you’re experiencing. Together, we can consider different therapy approaches that would be most helpful for you.

  • Build

Using our assessment as our guide, we’ll begin to implement the treatment approach that is best suited for you. Therapy sessions will be a combination of processing and discussion along with concrete skill-building and practice.

  • Adjust

Our work together is collaborative: if something changes or isn’t helping the way we want it to, we have a big toolbox of other options to pull from. We will regularly check in on your progress and make adjustments as necessary.

    -Emotional regulation

    -OCD

  • Yes. I know how difficult it can be to watch your child struggle and determine how best to parent them. I have decades of experience working with children, teens, and parents experiencing anxiety and OCD. Click here to learn more about therapy for children and teens and support for parents.

  • No. While many of my clients enter therapy describing their challenges as anxiety, often there are deeper root causes that must be addressed as well. I am trained in treating family of origin issues, attachment-based interventions, trauma, and more. However, I do not specialize in all mental health concerns. If I feel you would be better served by a different provider, I will happily provide you with referrals.

How do we get started?

I offer a free, confidential 15-minute consultation to help you decide if I’m the right therapist for you. This is an opportunity for you to share what’s bringing you to therapy, ask any questions you have about the process or my approach, and for us both to determine if we’re a good fit to work together.
